Golf unit begins....

Coach Every's classes will begin our golf unit. We will focus primarily on the fundamentals of putting and chipping. Proper grip, stance, ball position and aim/alignment are just some of the skills taught throughout the week. We use the S.N.A.G. golf program. The system consists of over-sized plastic golf clubs, tennis-type balls and Velcro targets. It provides a great introduction to golf and good practice for more advanced golfers.

Fitness Testing / Cardio Games

Coach Every's 3rd and 4th grade classes will conclude fitness testing this week. Cardio-games will be played for all other grades. We will participate in a short jump rope unit, as part of our cardio-games this week. I am very proud of the hard work demonstrated by my 3rd and 4th graders during our fitness testing. Keep up the great work!

Fitness Testing Finale

Coach Every's 3rd and 4th grade students will complete the final round of The President's Fitness Challenge. My third graders will run the mile on Tuesday during their long period and the fourth grade girls on Wednesday. It is very important to stay hydrated, wear athletic shoes and eat a light snack, as opposed to a heavy lunch, prior to running. This is especially important for the fourth graders. My younger students will participate in a jump rope unit focusing on coordination and cardiovascular endurance. We look forward to a great week ahead in physical education.
