Spring Forward

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Spring Break! I was able to get away for a couple of days to Disney and spend the rest of the time with my son here around town. Prior to Spring Break, the LD PE staff hosted a hugely successful Field Day. We would like to thank everyone who gave their time and effort to help out again this year. Coach Every's classes will continue to play 4-Square for grades 2-4 and play team building games for grades Alpha-1. Our lower grades may even use their excellent teamwork skills to play with the parachute in PE.

4 Square Time

Coach Every’s 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students will learn and play the game of 4 – Square. We will learn all the skills and tactics involved within this great playground game. Anticipation, reaction, footwork and tracking are just some of the skills reinforced during a 4-Square game. Another integral component to the game is the adherence to all the rules and conflict resolution. Our students learn strategies that help them referee their own games democratically and fairly. Our Kindergarten and First Grade students will learn the basics of 4-Square, serving and returning. They will also head back into the Mini-Gym to work on motor development skills. Throwing and tossing will be a constant focus throughout the week. JK and Alpha will continue working on locomotor, tag and teamwork games this week.
