This week in PE....
Kindergarten and First Grade will be participating in a multitude of Throwing and Tossing activities. Our focus will be on proper form and lead into accuracy as the week progresses. Now that our fitness testing is complete for the fall session, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades will begin our basketball unit. Skill work will be followed by modified games.

Coach Every's class is the name and basketball is the game, at least for grades K and 1. Kindergarten and First Grade will spend the week working on basketball skills and modified games including dribbling, shooting, passing and Around The World just to name a few. Third and Fourth Grade will participate in The President's Challenge fitness test. Third Grade will run the timed mile on Tuesday and Fourth Grade will run it on Thursday. Please make sure to have your children drink plenty of fluids the day before their scheduled run. Students are encourage to bring water bottles to school every day but especially on their mile days. Finally, Second Grade will get the opportunity to practice and learn all of the events of the President's Challenge. The Second Graders will get all the benefits of the various fitness tasks, although their scores will not count towards the test. I look forward to a great week ahead.
