I truly hope you all had a wonderful summer vacation. I feel recharged and excited for another great year at Shorecrest and hope you feel the same. I will be co-teaching Alpha and JK this year along with Coach Pope and Coach Cameron. Grades K-4 with be working primarily with one coach per trimester. My classes are Conroy, Owen, McKenzie, LaDuke and the boys from Telemachos and Hughes. This week will be spent working on team building skills, the rock wall, routines and getting PE uniforms and locker room procedures taken care of for our fourth graders. Kindergarten and First grade students will be taught a diverse curriculum with strong foundations on loco-motor skills, sending (throwing, kicking, hitting etc.), receiving (catching) and fitness skills. They will also participate in modified versions of our sport units this trimester. 5/9/2011 - 5/13/2011
There are so many exciting events taking place all over the Shorecrest campus. The Kindergarten show was amazing and I am very excited to see the First grade show as well. Coach Every's classes will begin our golf unit. We will focus primarily on the fundamentals of putting and chipping. Proper grip, stance, ball position and aim are just some of the skills taught throughout the week. We use the S.N.A.G. golf program. The system consists of over-sized plastic golf clubs, tennis-type balls and Velcro targets. It provides a great introduction to golf and good practice for more advanced golfers.
