Welcome back!

I hope everyone had an exciting or relaxing Spring Break, depending on the needs of your family. I was able to relax, play a lot of golf and do some much needed home improvements. The PE department and school in general, have a busy week ahead. Our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade track meet will take place on Wednesday and of course The Relay For Life will be held on Friday of this week. We plan to play some fun group games, practice for the track meet and revisit some of our previous lessons this week. We look forward to all the wonderful events happening at Shorecrest and hope you are too! :-)

Tis the Season for Basketball

Coach Every's class is the name and basketball is the game. Kindergarten thorough Fourth Grade will spend the week working on basketball skills and modified games including dribbling, shooting, passing, Basketball Pirates, Knockout, Sideline Basketball, P.I.G. and Around The World just to name a few. A strong emphasis on the fundamentals in the beginning will provide the solid base necessary for fun games to end the week.

2/28/11-3/4/11

We have a new addition to our PE program that will be introduced to my students this week. Coach Every's students will take part in an "Exer-gaming," lesson in the Mini-Gym. We will utilize a dancing video game that has already proved to be both fun and exciting to our students. The benefits of sustained dancing achieved in this dancing unit are, cardiovascular endurance, rhythm, motor coordination and planning just to name a few and not to mention its just plain old fun. Our younger students will also take part in motor development lessons this week.
